Now is the time for REAL CHANGE for Deerfield! New blood, new ideas, new direction for the future!

At what point did the federal, state and local governments decide they were more entitled to your money, then you? When anyone talks about letting the people keep more of what they earn, the response always is, “We can’t afford it!”  Well, it’s NOT their money! Our governments’ insatiable appetite for your money needs to stop. We are taxed on everything we do and everything we own. This mindset to take more and more needs to be changed, NOW!  You work hard for yourself and your family. Isn’t it time for YOU to have a voice speak for you?

My Campaign platforms are to:

1)   Over the past several years, property values have increased and taxes have exploded. I will fight to get our millage and values reduced to right-size our assessments.

2)   City government has had an insatiable appetite for tax dollars. Deerfield must become more efficient with LESS. Any company that gauges the city will no longer do business with us as long as I am mayor.

3)   Deerfield Beach has a lot to offer employers and I will aggressively court business to relocate to our city with incentives. We must keep our local economy strong and growing.

4) I will look to improve beach and park systems. We need to be smart about growth for business while considering increased parking pressure to allow more beach access.

Now is the time for REAL change for Deerfield! New blood, new ideas, new direction for the future! We all want to make our communities nicer but our current city government is either impeding or penalizing its citizens.  We need someone to bring everyone together! I am committed to work to resolve these pressing problems. I will use this office as the voice for the people. If I cannot deliver on the above listed promises, I will NOT run for re-election.

I am a widower with two children: Donnie Jr. and Rachel. Both children attended Deerfield Elementary and Deerfield Middle School. I have worked as a sales representative and trainer for Abbott Laboratories for the past 10 years. Prior to that, I was a contract negotiator for Aetna Life Insurance. I was also the Housing Association Vice-President for 7 years in my neighborhood.  My work will NOT conflict with my decisions for the City.

MARCH 10TH VOTE DON PETERSEN FOR MAYOR.
